Hack4Impact in the House
Over the past year, dedicated members of the Hack4Impact chapter at the University of Maryland have been developing a new client database for FFA. This platform will significantly streamline delivery scheduling and report generation. Development is now complete, and we have begun testing, with an anticipated launch in September. We are deeply grateful to the UMD students for using their skills to support nonprofits like FFA.
Corporate Volunteering
FFA is grateful to the many corporations and organizations that support our work. Already this year, we have welcomed volunteer groups from Arnold Ventures (pictured right), the EU Delegation, Uber Eats, Qualcomm, and the American Petroleum Institute.
Corporate engagement plays an important role in advancing food justice. When companies invest their time and resources locally, it strengthens the entire community.

Meditation Program Update
Following the success of Phase 1 of FFA’s Meditation for Wellness program, we have launched Phase 2 with grant support from Capital Area Food Bank.
Participating clients report a greater sense of peace, renewed creativity, and more positive outlooks. Meditation guides connect with clients by phone for 20-minute sessions tailored to their individual needs.
February Impact

Wellness Tip of the Month

As FFA expands into the wellness space through its Food as Medicine program, we will begin sharing monthly wellness tips from members of the FFA community.
This month, we hear from Purnima, who recently joined FFA as the Meditation for Wellness program coordinator: “I begin my day with a glass of warm water and stay hydrated throughout. And I always find time for a few quiet minutes of meditation. These small commitments steady my body and soften my mind, bringing a gentle clarity to the day.”
Volunteer Positions Available
FFA is entirely volunteer-run and always welcomes support—especially from individuals with specialized skills. We currently have several urgent volunteer needs:

- Gardener to bring life to FFA’s garden now that Spring is coming.
- Drivers to deliver food on Thursday, Friday or Saturday
